Carbon Capture Drives Growth

Bangkok,July 3,2026…Banpu Public Company Limited, , announced that BKV Corporation, its majority-owned energy company in the U.S., has achieved commercial operation (COD) of two Carbon Capture and Sequestration (CCS) projects, Cotton Cove and Eagle Ford, in Texas, the U.S. Developed and operated by BKV, the projects represent another significant milestone in expanding Banpu Group’s U.S. Closed-Loop Gas business, which integrates natural gas, power generation, and CCS to enable the production of Carbon-Sequestered Gas (CSG). The integrated business supports growing energy demand while advancing the transition toward a lower-carbon energy system.

The commercial operation of Cotton Cove and Eagle Ford follows the successful operation of Barnett Zero, BKV’s first commercial-scale CCS project. With these additions, BKV now has three commercial-scale CCS projects in operation in the U.S, further advancing Banpu Group’s U.S. Closed-Loop Gas business. Through its investment in BKV, Banpu continues to expand its CCS portfolio to achieve its target of 1.5 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent per year by 2028. This milestone reflects Banpu’s long-term growth strategy and commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions while delivering sustainable, long-term value to stakeholders and reinforcing its role in advancing a sustainable energy future responsibly.
