June 13 ,2025 …Dr. Krit Sitathani, Assistant Managing Director at KResearch, noted that ESG-related activities among Thai private sector players have seen a slowdown amid multiple headwinds.
In particular, the issuance of sustainable finance bonds has declined, with some corporates opting instead for green credit services offered by commercial banks a channel expected to maintain robust growth.
While large corporations with ongoing project finance plans continue to raise funds, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are more cautious. Many are postponing their sustainability investment decisions or focusing on initiatives with clearer short term returns, such as solar panel installation, energy efficiency upgrades, and battery electric vehicle (BEV) adoption.

This evolving shift highlights a trend. Thai sustainable finance is not retreating but adapting with businesses recalibrating their paths toward low-carbon and resilient growth.
