July 27,2025…Serenista is a Thai Girl Love writer who re-codes storytelling through themes of identity, equality, and sustainability. Her stories go beyond romance challenging norms and inspiring new ways of seeing the world.

Serenista’s passion for writing started with her love for reading, however it was not just the story themselves that appealed to her but also how they were crafted with such interconnectedness and coherence. After writing for some time, she found a solid fanbase from writing girl love romance novels. This helped lay the foundation for her distinctive voice and approach to storytelling which allowed her to fully immerse herself within sapphic storytelling.
She created a diverse range of characters and challenged herself to add something new to common book tropes. This was achieved by making the setting a more prominent part of the novel and using settings which aren’t as common within the well known tropes. The addition of educational perspectives and moral lessons enable her stories to have greater depth allowing readers to extract greater benefits from their reading experience. For example there is a scene within her novel which shows a character ordering minimal food despite having the finances to fund more extravagant and lavish multi dish meals but chooses not to as she knows she will not finish it all if she orders too much.
This teaches readers to be more cautious with food waste.

Small but significant scenes like this raises awareness and is a type of soft power in itself. Further issues she has tackled and incorporated include addressing concerns of mental health and societal expectations. She reiterates that due to her fanbase, romance is at the forefront and the main driving force behind the novel but that does not mean there shouldn’t be other elements too.
In some of her novels she has created powerful female leads that defy traditional gender norms as seen in her novel “Harmony Secret” where there are two strong and successful female leads who develop romantic feelings for one another. Both of these characters are businesswomen who overall have achieved the same level of success and are portrayed as equals. This offers a unique plot in her opinion because she mentions how often in sapphic romance novels usually there is more of an imbalance in power and status. She emphasises how success is relative and for some of her characters what one character considers success might be a failure for another, this can be seen when comparing different characters featured in her other novels. She thinks feminism does not mean women should have to strive to be businesswomen, but the crucial mindset is to be what they want and not be confined to what was traditionally expected of women.
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community she is aware of the struggles and confusion surrounding sexuality and so she has written novels featuring female characters who are not yet aware of their sexuality and so readers discover the character’s sexuality alongside them through a series of unfolding events. She herself, discovered her own sexuality through writing and realised how much reading and writing can aid people in self-discovery. Some of her characters easily accept their sexuality while others hide it due to their family beliefs and deep-rooted mindsets that have been passed down for generations.
She spoke about her experiences growing up and how heterosexual romances were the only type of romantic relationships considered normal, leading to members of the LGBTQ+ community being outcasted and shamed. When perspectives on such matters started to evolve, she mentioned cases where the understanding and acceptance on these matters were conditional in a sense as they would tolerate the LGBTQ+ community but became more resistant when it effected their own child.

She also addressed the removal of LGBTQ+ books from stores after outrage from society when the LGBTQ+ community was less accepted and compares this to our present day experience where we are able to be find booths and sections dedicated to the LGBTQ+ community. With social media, acceptance around these matters due to exposure has increased a more inclusive and comprehensive understanding around these topics allowing people of different cultures to slowly absorb this new mindset.
The greatest impact can be seen with the younger generations and how they are more accepting and unafraid to speak out in defence of the LGBTQ+ community due to the exposure they have received.
She admits that having her novel “Harmony Secret” turned into a series assisted in further developing her confidence in telling people within her personal life about the types of novels she writes and encouraging them to read them. With the adaptation of her novel becoming a series this will be able to gain her more exposure and reach audiences who might prefer this art in other forms.

Websites that allow writers to post their own stories makes them rely less on a publisher and allows writers to be more experimental. Serenista uses “MEB” a Thai platform which allows users to share their stories and for writers to gain an income. This makes it more accessible to people without having to buy a physical book.
Though this is not the traditional way, she has achieved much success with this platform which has enabled her to gain international fans and is now planning to have more of her novels translated into English.
