June 29,2025…Advanced Wireless Network Company Limited. (AWN), a subsidiary of AIS has won three slots of 2100 MHz spectrum, a total of 30 MHz at a price of 14.85 billion Baht. This marks a significant milestone in AIS’s continuing efforts to enhance the country’s digital infrastructure.
Somchai Lertsutiwong, Chief Executive Officer of AIS, stated,
“We are pleased to have secured the spectrum we targeted at a fair price suitable for long-term investment. This spectrum is ready for immediate deployment, and acquiring the 2100 MHz license will enable AIS to efficiently support increasing customer demand even more. It will enhance our 5G network not only in terms of the coverage but also in delivering a superior user experience in speed, quality, and readiness to support future technologies. This success reaffirms our mission to drive Thailand forward through strong and sustainable digital infrastructure.”
The 2100 MHz spectrum belongs to the mid-band frequency range, widely used for current mobile services. It provides extensive coverage and can accommodate high traffic volumes, especially in 4G and 5G networks.
This auction reflects AIS’s firm commitment to continuous investment in network development and innovation. The company plans to immediately put the newly acquired spectrum to optimal use expanding network coverage, enhancing service capabilities, and fueling further innovation.
The ultimate goal is to ensure equitable access to digital technology for all Thais and to sustainably drive national economic growth. The NBTC is expected to convene a meeting to formally ratify the auction results in due course.
