June 22, 2025…Jorakay Corporation Co., Ltd., a leader in comprehensive construction innovation committed to people and the environment, enters its 2nd year of the Jorakay Green Earth initiative. The project advances to measure voluntary greenhouse gas reduction under Thailand’s Voluntary Emission Reduction Program (T-VER), operated by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), underscoring Jorakay’s commitment to climate action.
Following its 2024 mangrove reforestation campaign in Trang Province, which covered 62.5 rai, Jorakay is now advancing to the next phase: conducting site assessments, preparing documentation, and undergoing third-party validation by a Validation and Verification Body (VVB) to pursuit official T-VER credits. Under a 10-year forest care plan, earning T-VER credits will mark a crucial step toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050 and Net Zero emissions by 2065.
Once Jorakay’s 62.5-rai mangrove forest is certified and registered under the T-VER program, the company will receive T-VER credits—which can be used to offset emissions from its operations. These credits form the foundation for participation in Thailand’s national carbon market. Jorakay aims to establish a model for actionable sustainability, emphasizing that reforestation for carbon credit generation is achievable when approached systematically. The company expects its T-VER project to offset over 1,200 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent over 10 years.

In its 2nd year, the Jorakay Green Earth project strengthens collaboration with the Department of Marine and Coastal Resources, the Thailand Mangrove Alliance, and local communities. Jorakay Corporation remains committed to maintaining 62.5 rai of mangrove forest over a 10-year period, backed by long-term funding to ensure sustained community involvement, generate local income, and promote meaningful stewardship of natural resources.
In its first year, the project allocated over 77% of its total budget to generate local employment for area preparation, seedling cultivation, tree planting, weed removal, and ongoing plot maintenance. This reflects a strong commitment to development that integrates economic growth, environmental stewardship, and improved community well-being.
The initiative exemplifies a balanced approach to nature conservation and income generation. It delivers tangible benefits to the community while laying the groundwork to become a national model for sustainable development and carbon reduction.
“We chose to generate carbon credits through mangrove reforestation because mangroves represent the future of the green economy. Mangrove forests absorb carbon at a rate 4 times higher than terrestrial forests—just 1 rai can sequester approximately 9.4 tons of carbon dioxide per year. Planting mangroves is a powerful mechanism for carbon reduction. Beyond that, the project enhances coastal resilience, supports aquatic species, and boosts long-term community income.
