The “Mizuiku Water Hero Camp” returned for its second consecutive year, in collaboration with the Environmental Education Centre (EEC) and key government agencies. The camp aims to raise awareness among youth about the importance of water resources under the concept of “No Water. No Life.” The activity is designed to educate Thai youth about the importance of water resources and to enhance their understanding of the water cycle and local water-related challenges through a combination of theory and hands-on learning, presented in a fun and engaging edutainment format. Taking place in a ‘Nature Classroom’ in Chonburi, the curriculum spans the full water ecosystem from upstream, midstream, downstream, including the sea covering the following learning stations:

Upstream learning: Understand the role and importance of watershed forests as natural water storage areas and the benefits of water retention for year-round availability. Participants also learned the basics
of water quality testing and studied sediment movement from upstream to downstream at the Khao Khiao–Khao Chomphu Wildlife Sanctuary.
Midstream learning: Explore ecosystems such as reservoirs and wetlands, which are crucial for biodiversity. Participants also examined the ecological impact of losing these midstream zones at the Khao Khiao Nature and Wildlife Education Center.

Downstream learning: Study mangrove ecosystems, which act as natural filters that trap pollutants through a variety of plant and animal species. Participants also learned about the interdependence between mangrove forests and nearby communities and how water quality is connected from upstream to downstream at the Mangrove Forest Conservation Center.
Marine awareness: Recognize the importance of the sea as the destination of water flow. Participants explored how every action on land has a direct impact on marine ecosystems, affecting both their richness and the vulnerability of aquatic life. Activities were designed to foster a holistic understanding of water systems and instill a strong sense of responsibility for protecting the sea as a valuable natural resource.

The activities were supported by government agencies, including the Department of Water Resources, the Department of Climate Change and Environment, and the Pollution Control Department under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, who served as project advisors and members of the judging panel for the student-led school water conservation project competition.
